There's a wee lake / model boat pond in Kirkwall called The Peerie Sea (or Peedie, there's some "healthy debate" about the correct spelling, because "Peerie" is the Shetland word for little, and "Peedie" would be the Orkney version, but it does appear on old maps as "Peerie", and that's what I've always called it), and it has a path around it so you can cross at low tide...
At one bit, just by the sluice gates that can drain it into the sea if the water level gets too high, it's very shallow. When I was a kid, there used to be peedie (lol... peerie?) fishes in that bit, and you could watch them swimming.
Well, one day I was walking on the path, by this shallow bit, and I thought "I wonder if there are still any wee fishes in here?" - And just about wet myself laughing when I looked down at my side, and saw this:
